I am an abstract painter shaped by a foundation in graphic design and illustration. My creative journey
began in the design world, where I developed a deep understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling. Over time, my painting practice evolved toward abstraction, allowing me to further explore color, movement, and texture. Abstraction became a way to loosen the edges and let intuition speak where precision once led.
In addition to my studio practice and design career, I have 21 years of experience teaching middle school art.
I guided young artists in developing technical skills while encouraging experimentation and self-expression. Teaching strengthened my belief in the transformative power of creativity and continues to influence my approach to artmaking.
My paintings are conversations between control and surrender. Layers build, dissolve, and reemerge, echoing both my design training and my instinct to disrupt it. Each piece becomes a space where movement, tension, and stillness coexist. As a former art teacher, I witnessed the fearless creativity of young artists and their willingness to experiment without apology. That spirit continues to inform my practice. I paint not to explain,
but to invite, to create moments where viewers can pause, feel, and find their own meaning within the abstract.
